Simple colouring with cardstock - Altenew Charming Doodles stamp & die set

Altenew Altenew Charming Doodles Altenew dies Birthday Charming Doodles Gina K Cardstock heat embossing Thank you

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. We all love to colour our stamped images in, whether that's with ink, pens, pencils or paints. But what about keeping it simple with coloured cardstock. This allows you to play with bold colouring to allow your design to pop and allows you to make many in one go as it is that simple!

Written and photos Simple colouring with cardstock:

To start off, stamp a variety of the flowers in embossing ink onto Peony and Azalea Hero Hues Cardstock. Cover these with gold embossing powder and heat set.
Next, stamp a variety of the foliage onto Pesto and Palm Hero Hues cardstock, again in embossing ink to cover with gold embossing powder.
Once you have stamp and heat embossed a large stash of flowers, use the coordinating Altenew Charming Doodles dies to cut out the heat embossed images.
For the card panels, trim down a piece of Lemon Drop and Innocent Pink Gina K Cardstock down to 5.5" x 4.25. Next, using metallic paints to add white and gold paint splatter to the background and leave to one side.
Die-cut two white circles out of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb cardstock. Using a soft grey ink stamp a sentiment onto the circles. With a blending brush, ink blend a soft ink around one side of the circle, softly fading this out.
After the panels are dry, foam mount these onto 5X7" card bases. Next, start to assemble the flowers and foliage around the circle.
To create interest, using 3D  foam pads to create dimension and depth. Don't be afraid to position some of the die-cuts underneath the circle as well as layering on top.
To finish the sentiments off, add a small secondary heat embossed sentiment strip on black card. This will pop off the card and add further interest.
Lastly, finish the card off with a few sequins scattered around the card.

If you enjoyed today's card, please let us know and we would love to see your cards if this has inspired you.
