Stamps aren't just for Christmas - Create with the Cozy Town Stamp set!

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas despite never-ending pandemic. I've got a quick post today showing you that stamps aren't just for Christmas! Haha, see the pun I did there! Well, today I've got a fun card that uses the Hero Arts Cozy Town stamp set, originally a stamp set created for Christmas cards. With a few simple techniques, you can switch up and stretch your Christmas stamps to create cards all year round! So let's get started!

Written and photos Stamps aren't just for Christmas:

Start off by stamping a selection of the buildings from the Hero Arts Cozy Town stamp set in alcohol friendly ink onto white card. I'm going to use Copic markers on this card, however, if you don't have alcohol markers you can use any colouring medium you prefer, pencils, watercolours etc.
For a patterned panel like this, I find it easiest to place my panel over some fun foam and then repeatedly stamp the buildings with acrylic blocks, already loaded up with the stamps making it much faster. This is a much quicker and easier method than using you Misti and keep moving the stamps around.  In addition, stamp a selection of the trees next to and in between the buildings.

To create a fresh look to the card, keep the building walls white and only add a touch of shading with a very light grey marker. The blue and red shades used contrast well against the white to add to the freshness of the card, I alternated the colours between the roof and windows/doors on each building. (Copic marker colours used at the end of the post)

To add colour to the trees, I used the dot method by adding small dots of colour over the stamped designs. I started with my lightest green and adding varying darker shades over the top as you moved in towards the trees. After mounting the stamped panel onto a card base, I added a heat embossed sentiment from the Altenew Ditsy Print stamp set to finish the card off.
 Copic Marker colours:
Blues: B32, B16, B18
Reds: R22, R14, R24
Greens: YG03, GO5, GO7
Greys:COO, CO2

If you enjoyed today's card, please let us know and we would love to see your cards if this has inspired you.
