No-line watercolour Darling Lily

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. I have a lovely no-line watercolour Lily card today and I've used a Gina K Amalgam ink which is perfect for this technique. Gina K came out with a selection of amalgam colours that could be used for no-line colouring with your watercolours, alcohol inks and pencils so it is a very versatile ink! You can easily adapt this card for any occasion, and could even make lovely thinking of you card.

To start off trim a piece of smooth watercolour card down to 1/4" smaller than your card base. I've used the Distress Watercolour card stock on this card. Using Whisper amalgam ink, stamp the Darling Lily from Altenew. If you have opted to use rough watercolour card, you may wish to do this in your MISTI so you can stamp it several times for a could crips image.

Start to colour in the petals using the Altenew watercolour pan set. Make sure you do not paint petals next to one another until one petal has completely dry. The colours used for the petals were Coral Berry, Rubelite and Grapevine.

Make sure you leave the small areas for the pollen, using Warm Sunshine for these, but you can easily pain the pollens stems in Grapevine over the painted petals. For the stems and leaves, use the Forest Glades and Evergreen greens to adding shading and depth.

To ground the Lily onto the panel, lightly add clear water around the edge of the flower and drop in Industrial Diamond grey, blending this out. Set this to one side to dry. Once the panel is dry, add some black and gold paint splatter for added interest.

Die cut the 'Thanks' from the Altenew signature words die collection in black cardstock and stamp a secondary sentiment from the Avery Elle Sentimental stamp set in white embossing powder.

Lastly, foam mount the card panel onto a card base made out of Soft stone cardstock from Gina K designs and adhere some sequins with Gina K connect glue.
