Monochromatic card with a quick and easy background - Gina K Designs Skeleton Leaves

Altenew Background Gina K designs Hello Monochomatic Skeleton Leaves

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. I have stopped making Christmas cards now, most are done and I also wanted a break from them. So instead, for today's post, I created two very simple quick and easy 'Hello' using a beautiful and delicate looking stamp set from Gina K Designs. To make the intricate details of the stamps really stand out an pop I used paired down colour scheme and allowing the contrast of the blues and white to enhance the beautiful detail. These cards can easily be adapted to suit any occasion, stamp and colour scheme.

Monochromatic card with a quick and easy background - Gina K Designs Skeleton Leaves details:

To start off, cut a piece of Neenah Solar white card down to 5.5" x 4.25 and place in a stamp positioner. Alternatively, you can use acrylics blocks - as I was making two cards, the stamp positioner made it slightly quicker.
Stamp your leaves, rotating and moving the position for variety. I found it easy with the stamp positioner to just rotate the card 180 degrees and stamp in the opposite corner and the just fill in the spaces with a few more additional leaves.
For this navy card, I just used a simple layer white die cut hello from Altenew and paired this with a heat embossed sentiment from the Leaf Canopy stamp set.
To finish the card off, I added a few Nuvo drops - these were clear but they did absorb the ink I used as it was quite juicy and hadn't dried before I added the drops.
For the second card, I used a paler blue and therefore needed the die cut sentiment to stand out. I added a die cut out of silver mirror card to the top which contrasted well with the background.
Again, this card was finished with a heat embossed sentiment and clear Nuvo drops. Both panels were adhered to a 5.5" x 4.25 card base made out of 110lb Neenah solar white card.
