Hey lovelies!
With all of the cold weather we've been having it seems it's germ season! Almost everyone I know has the cold/flu (myself included!) so this week I thought I'd share a simple get well soon card to send to your loved ones while they're a little under the weather!
I stamped the cute sick whale from Lawn Fawn's "Get Well Before 'N Afters" stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it with my alcohol markers. I used a white gel pen to add some highlights as well as dotted details to the whale's cheeks before fussy cutting my image out.
I cut a panel from white card stock using the second largest die from Mama Elephant's "Basic Rectangles" Creative Cuts. I covered the top half of my panel with some post it tape so I could use a stencil on the lower half without marking the top area of my panel. I used the Altenew "Halftone" Stencil and Iced Spruce Distress Oxide ink to blend the bottom half of my panel to create the pattern at the bottom. Once I was happy with the stencilling, I removed the post it tape from the top and used it to cover the pattern the stencil had created. I used Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink, mixed them with water on my glass craft mat and splattered the top half of my panel with both ink colours.
Once the ink splatter was dry I wrapped two pieces of twine around my panel just above the pattern on the bottom and adhered them to the back. I took a small strip of white card stock and stamped my sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I popped up my whale just above the top piece of twine and my sentiment on the bottom half of my panel using 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape.
I cut another panel from white card stock using the largest of the "Basic Rectangles" Creative Cuts this time and blended the edges using Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I used 1/2" Scor-Tape to adhere both of my panels together and on to my card base.
Thanks for reading lovelies! I hope you're all well, and if you do have the sniffles I hope you feel better soon! I'll see you next week with another card.
Claire

Sorry to hear you’re poorly but what a cute card! I really like the stencil idea, great alternative to using patterned paper xxx
