Elegant one layered for batch making

Altenew batch making christmas Elegant Ink blending Lawn Fawn Tonic Studios WOW! Embossing Powder

Hello there, it is Verity from Pretty Little Button here for the Bumbleberry Design team. For my first post, I wanted to create a couple of Christmas cards with an alternative colour scheme as opposed to the traditional Christmas colour scheme. This time I wanted to challenge myself to make some elegant Christmas cards using red, gold and green and show even myself that these can make lovely cards for Christmas. Whatsmore, I wanted to make a set of the cards that are easy to batch make should you need a lot of cards but still want them to remain elegant.

Now you may think this looks familiar, Kristina Werner did a similar card with this stamp and she did but with watercolours. However, these cards were made prior to her putting that video up, so I would like to think it is a case of great minds think alike ;)

Although I haven't taken inspiration from Kristina Werner for this card, I did get inspiration from Yana Smakula for this card, so do check her out as she is a brilliant card maker!

Elegant one layered for batch making card details:

To start off, stamp the tree stamp from Altenew Starry Night stamp set onto Lawn Fawn coloured cardstock, trimmed down to a card panel. Using two embossing powders from WOW! Embossing powders, create an Ombre effect with the colours meeting in the middle.
Next stamp a star from the set on top of the tree and cover this with matching embossing powder from the bottom of your tree and heat set this.

Using a blending tool and dye or distress inks, blend on a dark shade colour to your cardstock around the edges. Make sure you leave the middle as the cardstock for a highlight / 'glow' effect.

Heat emboss a sentiment onto vellum in WOW! Bright white embossing powder and heat set. The vellum allows you to add a sentiment without it overtaking the tree. Fussy cut around the sentiment and adhere to the card panel with a glue pen.

Lastly, add a selection of colour corresponding Tonic Nuco drops sounding the sentiment or tree.
The Nuvo drops on this card look a little like snow falling.

I just love how these cards came out and think they make a great set to give as well. Why not try it with a whole host of coloured cardstock!
