Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. When I was setting out to make a birthday card, I wanted to customise it for my niece and what better way than creating custom cards with alphabet dies! The beautiful Lea's Ornate lowercase alphabets die from PinkFresh Studios caught my eye and knew these would be great for creating whimsy custom cards. I paired it with an ombre pink colour scheme to create a fun bold modern birthday card.

Written and photos Creating custom cards with alphabet dies:

To start off, place a piece of white card panel into your MISTI, but make sure you remove the foam pad in order to stamp with a background cling stamp. Next, position the Colorblock Gradient Stripes background stamp over the top and remove the 4th stripe down. This stamp allows you to remove the strips for multicoloured stamping.
Stamp the top three stripes in a soft pink ink. Replace the stripe you have removed, and then remove the stripes either side of the next three stripes. Stamp these stripes in a slightly darker shade of pink. Keep repeating this down the stamp, with the next colour block of 3 in a slightly darker pink once more, then the next 2 block of 2 stripes again in darker colours of ink.
For the name, use the Lea's Ornate Lowercase alphabet die to die-cut out of white card. Next, take the inner of the die-cuts and colour with the same ink pads used in the background. To do this, take the ink pad directly to the paper and swipe colour. When complete, adhere these to the background panel and add the white outline to make the letters pop out from the background.
To finish the card off, add a white heat embossed sentiment from the Altenew Sentiment Strips stamp set, foam mounting this onto the card. Lastly, add a selection of sequins to embellish the card.
If you enjoyed today's card, please let us know and we would love to see your cards if this has inspired you.
