Creating a Christmas wreath without Christmas stamps

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. One way to stretch your supplies is to use other florals to make a Christmas wreath. A secret tip to make this work is to use a classic Christmas colour combo of red, green and gold to take a normal floral and create a Christmas feel. Here, I've turned the New Day Floral stamp and die set into a Christmas wreath bursting off the page. Add a little gold splatter and Christmas sentiment and the recipient is none the wiser. 

Start off by heat embossing the It's A New Day Floral stamp set in gold embossing powder onto Distress Watercolour cardstock. Do this twice so you have plenty of florals for the wreath. 

Next, colour these in with simple easy colouring. Drop clear water colour the heat embossed images. To add colour, smoosh an ink pad down onto an acrylic block and pick up the colour to drop into the clear water. I've used Coral Cabana, Samba and Cranberry Fizz for the flowers and In The Park and Deck The Halls for the leaves.

Start off with the lightest colours and build up the intensity and colour with he darker shades. This uses a wet on wet technique allowing the colours to move and blend for a natural watercolour painted look. 

After the images have dried, use the coordinating dies to cut the images out. Next, start adding them to a white card panel trimmed to 5.5 x 4" in a circular pattern to create a wreath. Use different depths of foam pads for added dimension and interest. 

To finish the card off, add some gold paint splatters, a Christmas sentiment and scatter some gold sequins around to embellish the wreath.
