Hi There Crafty Friends,
I'm back today with a pretty little rainbow cake design. I've noticed rainbow cake is all the trend at the moment.
Here my take on a yummy slice of cake card.
I also add my bonus card today showing a masking technique.
My Favorite Things birthday Take The Cake
Neenah Cardstock 80lb
Gina K Amalgam Ink Pad
Gina K Black Cardstock
White Jelly Roll Pen
Gina K Connect Glue
Nuvo Drops Crystal Drops (gloss in rainbow colours)
6 x 6 inch Card Blank
5 1/2 x 5 1/2 Inch Piece of Neenah Card Stock
Tumbled Glass Distress Ink Pad
Sequins (Lucy's Cards)
Nuvo White Blizzard
Back Card Base 6 x 6 inches
Taking a piece of neenah cardstock, I cut down to 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. I stamped random images from the stamp set all over the piece of card stock, using Amalgam ink pad.
I then added a few more different stamp images (Candle, Happy Cake Day)
I then choose a seven different colours for my rainbow, alcohol pen colours.
I then filled in my images. Off to the side on a separate piece of neenah card stock, I stamped my sentiment and coloured that using the same alcohol pen colours. I added high lights with white gel pen.
I then choose matching Nuvo drops to match my rainbow colour pallet.
Once they dried I cut a piece of black card stock at 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches, and added to my card blank. I then took my stamped piece and added it on top of the black card stock, using connect glue.
Finally I cut and mounted my sentiment on to the card, with double sided tape.
Taking another piece of neenah cardstock, cut to 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Die Cut a circle out of the masking tape. Then place that on to the piece of neenah. lining up where you want the circle to be.
Stamp your cake, mask it off then stamp your cake stand. leave the masks on and ink blend over the top with Distress ink.
Remove masks (All) then colour your cake and stand.
Stamp and colour your sentiments. add nuvo drops and sequins to finish.
I added a little more detail to the cake with my Pitt Pens or Fine Liners.
Thank you for Popping Bye
