A duo of baby cards

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. I don't know about you but it appears to be baby season again with several friends due or just had their little one. Therefore I need to make a couple of aby cards, and one I didn't know the sex of the baby. But the Special delivery stamp 't set from Avery Elle was perfect for making unisex cards. Though don't worry, they are easy to customise if you do know the sex of the baby!

A duo of baby cards photos and written step-by-step:

Start off by stamping the images from the 'Special delivery' stamp set onto Bristol Smooth cardstock. If like me, you are making more than one card, the MISTI makes stamping several in one go very easy. AS I was using my Zig Clean Color real brush markers to colour the images in I used Versafine Onyx Black pigment inks and this does not bleed once heat set.
If you decide to use a different colouring medium for the cards, make sure you use the most appropriate ink for that medium.  To add definition to the Storks whilst still keeping their feathers white, I added soft grey colours in the shadow areas. This makes the white feather coat more realistic.
Once you have coloured out your stamped images, you can use the coordinating dies or fussy cut the stamps out. To create the cloud background, I used a cloud die from my stash. However, the Honey Cuts cloud dies of MFT cloud stencil would work just as well and are linked below.
Using you blending brushes, apply light ink to a white card panel out of Neenah Classic Crest Solar white 80lb cardstock. As you blend the ink of the stencil, lighten you had to fade out to white. Repeat this at different stages across the card panel to fill the background.

Foam mount the card panel onto a card base made out of Gina K Soft Stone cardstock, and foam mount your stamped images onto the card with Scrapbook adhesives foam pads. Lastly, add a selection of sequins with Gina K Connect glue to embellish the card.
For the second I kept the background much more simple. This is great if you don't have a cloud die or stencil to create the ink blended background as before.
Using your blending brushes, apply blue ink to the top of a card panel out Neenah Classic Crest Solar white 80lb cardstock, fading it out as you move down the card. The blending brushes are great at creating soft fades like this.
Add a selection of the stamped images to the card pane directly with glue or Scrapbook adhesive foam pads for dimension. The stamp set comes with a few clouds to stamp and colour to add more interest to the sky. The 'Bundle of Joy' sentiment comes in one long line - to stamp this onto the ballon, just mask the words in order to stamp separately in different lines.
This was again added to a Soft Stone card base and finished with a few sequins to embellish.
If you enjoyed today's card, please let us know and we would love to see your cards if this has inspired you.
